AFP reported on January 4 that the Indian space agency is set to launch a rocket carrying 103 satellites next month in a single mission, which if successful, will set a new world record. This shows that India is looking to grab a position in the commercial space race.
The report says that the rocket will be launched in February this year from Sriharikota launch pad located in the South. Of all the satellites it carries, only three are Indian satellites, rest are from countries including the United States, France and Germany. If the launch is successful, India will become the world’s first country to launch the most number of satellites on a single rocket.
