A curtain raiser on the eve of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to China. Quotes him for his favourable and laudatory view of China, especially the successes achieved by it on the anti-corruption and anti-poverty fronts. Extracts:


“…………..Imran Khan spoke highly of the all-weather strategic partnership between Pakistan and China. He said that the Pakistan-China friendship has a long history and the Pakistani people regard the Chinese people as good friends. He himself has been a witness to the progress of bilateral relations. “In the hearts of the Pakistani people, if we ask which country is the most reliable, we say it must be China.”

On the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, Imran Khan said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a huge opportunity for Pakistan and an extension of the traditional friendship between the two countries. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has brought opportunities for change in Pakistan. At present, the corridor construction has entered a new stage. It is expected to attract more foreign investment and advanced technology to Pakistan in the future, and promote industrial development by focusing on strengthening  construction of industrial parks………..

Imran Khan thanked China for inviting Pakistan to participate in the first China International Import Expo. He said that the first China International Import Expo is a great opportunity to showcase Pakistani goods and promote exports. Pakistani companies will display major foreign exchange earning products such as agricultural products, leather products, textiles, sporting goods and medical equipment at the fair.

Talking about the current counter-globalization trend and the rise of trade protectionism, Imran Khan believes that economic globalization is beneficial to the healthy development of world trade, and trade protectionism will hinder the development of the world economy and ultimately harm the interests of all countries.”
