Reuters quoting Pakistan’s Interior Minister, reported that the Pakistani government had arrested two close relatives of the leader of the terrorist organization “Jaish-E-Muhammad”, Masood Azhar on the 5th. The “Jaish-E-Muhammad” has claimed responsibility for the attack in India-controlled Kashmir.
A Release from the Pakistani Ministry of the Interior said that Pakistan had decided to take action against the “Jaish-E-Muhammad”. Members of 44 armed groups, including two close relatives of Masood Azhar, Abdullah Rafah and Hamad Azhar, have been arrested. India’s New Delhi TV said that the dosier shared by India with Pakistan last week mentioned the names of these two men. Abdullah Rafah is the brother of Masood Azhar.
According to a report in Pakistan’s “Dawn” of the 5th, the Pakistani Navy issued a statement on the same day saying that the Pakistani navy had successfully blocked an Indian submarine attempting to break into the waters of Pakistan. The Pakistani Navy also released a video of anti-submarine helicopters taken from the air. The report said that this is the second time since 2016 that the Pakistani navy had discovered Indian submarines trying to enter Pakistani waters. A Pakistani Navy spokesman said that the Pakistani side did not attack the Indian submarine because “Pakistan pursues a peace policy and the Indian submarine is not our target.” Indian defense officials told “India Today” TV said on the 5th that they were verifying the authenticity of the video.
