An inane and totally insubstantive item on the recent Track II Dialogue between India and China led by former State Councillor, Dai Bing Gua and former NSA, Shivshankar Menon. They were both reported to have spoken highly of the state of Sino-Indian relations currently “and made suggestions for further development of the relationship”.

Chinese Ambassador to India, Luo Zhaohui’s speech on the occasion was specially mentioned albeit in general terms again: he was reported to have “made introductory remarks on China-India relations and on the direction of their further development, and stressed that China attaches great importance to Sino-Indian relations and was willing to work with India to take the relationship to a higher level”.

And, apart from the above, the item only mentions that “the two sides positively evaluated the current development momentum of China-India relations and expressed confidence in their future development. They believed that the dialogue was fruitful and long-term, and agreed to continue it in Sichuan, China next year.”
