The Indian side has been claiming recently that five Indians were “kidnapped” by the Chinese border guards in Southern Tibet (the Arunachal Pradesh they claimed), or “lost”. According to the Huan Qiu Shi Bao, five Indian personnel did cross the border in Southern Tibet and entered the Shannan Municipality of Tibet. The source told the Huan Qiu Shi Bao that these Indians were Indian intelligence agents dressed as hunters. The source said that the Indian side sends people across the border to spy on our situation in this way from time to time. This is a means for them to encroach on the areas controlled by the Chinese side. In such a situation, China will firmly detain them and release them after warning and education. The Chinese side has warned these five persons, who are undergoing education, and will release them soon. The China-India border is long and there are many open and not so well-guarded areas. In recent years, India has adopted an aggressive attitude of taking advantage of the China-India border area, which has increased the challenge for China to strengthen border control. The Indian military interacts frequently with the media, and often spreads distorting information to mislead the public and incite domestic nationalism. In response to India’s normalization of provocations, we have recently increased the release of information on the real situation in the China-India border area to enable all to see and hear.
