China Military Network announced on January 11 that, according to the relevant agreement between China and India, a soldier from the Chinese border guards who had disappeared in the darkness due to the complex terrain had been handed over by the Indian side to the Chinese border guards at noon on January 11.

The Times of India quoted news from the Indian Army on the 11th that the Chinese soldier inadvertently entered the Indian side of the China-India Line of Control in the early hours of the 8th and was detained by the Indian army. He was handed over to the Chinese side at Chushul, China and India at 10 am on the 11th, at the Mordo border talks meeting station. “South China Morning Post” quoted Nehru University’s China expert Kondapalli as saying that although border tensions have increased, “the two sides have procedures for resolving such incidents”.
