Indian TV 18 reported on the 11th that Vergara was born in India and moved to the United States at the age of 3. She is a member of Twitter’s public relations executive team and the head of the company’s legal, policy, trust and security affairs department that examined Trump’s speech in question. She received a bachelor’s degree in labor relations from Cornell University in the United States, and a doctorate in law from New York University. She joined Twitter in 2011. For 10 years, she has been helping Twitter establish a legal system. In 2014, Fortune magazine disclosed that Vergara was the only woman in the Twitter executive team at the time.
In October last year, the U.S. Political News Network called Vergara “the most powerful social media executive ever”. During the US Presidential election, she had also persuaded the company’s CEO, Jack Dorsey, not to permit election-related advertisements.
