The Indian capital, New Delhi, announced on the 3rd that it plans to plant 20 million trees in the next four years to improve the current bad air pollution problem.

According to a report by the Russian Satellite News Network oF the 2nd, the “World Air Quality Report 2020” compiled by the Swiss organization’IOAir’ stated that New Delhi is one of the capitals with more serious air pollution in the world. Before the outbreak of the new corona epidemic, New Delhi  repeatedly figured in any search for air quality problems. On the 3rd, the  government in New Delhi decided to plant 3.3 million saplings starting from June 5 on World Environment Day, going upto  20 million saplings in the next four years. Citizens can also receive free saplings from the government.

The current source of air pollution in New Delhi is mainly greenhouse gases caused by the burning of fossil fuels. Long-term inhalation of PM10 can cause respiratory diseases, coughing, runny nose, eye irritation, etc., and even more can induce asthma and chronic bronchitis. , Chronic pneumonia, etc. However, thanks to the tree planting plan in recent years, the green belt around New Delhi has been extended from 299 kilometers to 325 kilometers, and this year’s goal is to extend it to 350 kilometers.
