In an interview with Hong Kong Radio News, the Consul General of Nepal in Hong Kong stated that it had already proposed to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government to supply the remaining COVID-19 vaccine requirements of Nepal in Hong Kong.

According to a report by Sing Tao Daily on the 7th, the Consul General of Nepal stated that hospitals in many cities in Nepal are overcrowded and urgently need medical supplies. The new corona vaccine is in short supply in South Asia. The Consul General is applying to the Hong Kong government to supply the remaining vaccines in Hong Kong. He said that Nepal is willing to accept both the existing vaccines in Hong Kong (i.e. Kexing and Fubitai vaccines), which are not in short supply. We are willing to pay for them, he said. At the end of last month, the Hong Kong government had expressed its willingness to give away the remaining vaccines to other countries and regions in need before the expiry date. Currently, Nepal is the first country to confirm its application for the same.
